A Retreat to Remember

A Retreat to Remember

As the two coaster buses meandered through the verdant landscape, flanked by meticulously trimmed trees and a palpable sense of tranquility, the journey to Zuma Rock Resort for the annual Retreat organized by the Policy Innovation Centre unfolded like a scene from a dream. The next four days was critical for Dr. Osasuyi Dirisu and her team of innovative thinkers and change-makers. The anticipation among the staff members was palpable, each one eagerly awaiting the opportunity to shatter the glass ceiling and embark on a journey of introspection and growth as they steered the organization towards a more prosperous future in 2024.

Arriving at the resort, nestled amidst nature's embrace, was nothing short of awe-inspiring. The lush greenery seemed to whisper secrets of rejuvenation, promising a retreat where nature itself would collude with human ambition to spark creativity and innovation. The ambiance was suffused with an air of possibility, as if the very essence of the surroundings infused the attendees with renewed vigor and determination.

As the attendees checked into their rooms, they were greeted by the playful sight of rabbits hopping about, adding a whimsical charm to the already enchanting atmosphere. From the cozy hostels to the state-of-the-art conference facilities, every corner of the resort served as a canvas for collaboration, brainstorming, and strategic planning.

Throughout the four-day retreat, the agenda was carefully crafted to cater to both the body and the mind, offering a harmonious blend of kinetic activities, leisurely pursuits, and intellectually stimulating sessions. From invigorating team-building exercises amidst the flora and fauna to thought-provoking discussions in the conference center, each moment presented an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

The intellectual discourse reached new heights as esteemed facilitators such as Dr. Tayo Aduloju, Tayo Opatayo, Dr. Tayo Ajirotutu, Segun Sangowawa, and Rinmicit Aboki led engaging sessions that sparked lively debates and inspired fresh perspectives. Each juicy knowledge proceeded from subject matters such as Leadership, Emotional Intelligence, Climate Change & Adaptability, Business Development and Personal Effectiveness. The exchange of knowledge and ideas flowed seamlessly, fueling a collective sense of purpose and invigoration among the PIC team members. Another moment to remember was the Valentine mixture into the delicious escape route to Zuma Rock Resort.

More so, the PIC team unanimously recognized Adekemi Omole as Employee of the Year, Akinwumi Akinola as Innovator of the Year, Jane Ohioghame for Team Player Award, and Mayokun Adediran as Most Improved Staff respectively. Everyone shared the joyous moment with a strong sense on companionship and the lofty thoughts of communal progress that produced a unique team-bonding experience.

As the retreat drew to a close, there lingered a sense of fulfillment and anticipation for the journey ahead. The retreat had not only rejuvenated the spirits of the PIC team but had also laid the groundwork for a future brimming with possibility and innovation. Amidst the breathtaking beauty of Zuma Rock Resort, the seeds of transformation nested on credibility had been sown, ready to blossom into a new era of organic progress for the Policy Innovation Centre.
