Gender for Private Sector Development Course in Lagos

Gender for Private Sector Development Course in Lagos

Gender is a recurrent theme in the development sector globally and its importance is evidenced by its inclusion in the sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by world leaders in 2015 embody a roadmap for progress that is sustainable and leaves no one behind. The fifth goal (SDG 5) aims to achieving gender equity and empower all women and girls. However, achieving gender equity and women’s empowerment is integral to each of the 17 goals. Hence, the important of gender integration into the world of work cannot be underscored.

Recent trends have shown that demonstrating gender diversity on the boards of organizations, as well as implementation of gender policies and gender action plans have become critical requirements for successful investment applications. Aside from these requirements, it is important that staff members are trained on gender concepts to ensure they can successfully implement their project deliverables using a gender lens.

The goal of the Certificate Course in Gender for Private Sector Development is to build the capacity of participants on gender, improve decision-making, drive positive financial outcomes and explore the practical applications in the world of work.
