Dr. Ebere Okereke is a public health physician with expertise in global health security, health system strengthening, and leadership development. She is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and the advancement of women and underrepresented groups in public health leadership, earning recognition and awards for her contributions in this space.
She has held senior roles in esteemed organisations, including Public Health England (now UKHSA), the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, and Africa Public Health Foundation. As an Honorary Senior Adviser at the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), she played a pivotal role in co-leading the development of the Partnerships for African Vaccine Manufacturing (PAVM), an initiative aimed at strengthening vaccine production across the continent.
Dr. Okereke’s impact extends into academic medicine, where she has been honored by the British Medical Association as an outstanding role model for women in academic medicine. In recognition of her contributions to global health, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine.
