Jessica Vakporaye is a Research Officer (Gender in Health and Agriculture) who supports food security, nutrition, and health activities for the Policy Innovation Centre. In the last year, Jessica conducted qualitative research on the poor adoption of new and improved varieties of seeds and other inputs within agricultural value chains to inform policy prioritisation. She also leads the abstract research component of the Gender and Inclusion Summit.
Before this role, she supported the policy drafting of the Food Safety and Quality Bill 2022 within the Agriculture and Food Security Policy Commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group.
Jessica's academic background includes a Master's degree in Food Safety from the University of Debrecen and a Bachelor's in Biochemistry from the University of Port Harcourt, where she graduated in the top 2% of her class. She has also received a certificate in Agricultural Policy Framework for Development from the Devimpact Institute, Kenya.
