Why This Hackathon

Some of Nigeria’s biggest social and economic challenges continue to affect the same communities most deeply: women, young people, persons with disabilities, and low-income households.

Across healthcare, education, economic inclusion, agriculture, climate resilience, transportation, security, and gender-based violence, many solutions are still designed without meaningful input from the people they are meant to serve. The GS-26 Inclusive Innovation Hackathon was created to change that. Over three immersive days at Fluxx Eco, twenty of Abuja’s most promising innovators, builders, researchers, designers, and entrepreneurs will work together to create practical solutions using an Inclusive Innovation Framework. Participants will tackle real-world challenges, receive expert guidance, and turn ideas into prototypes that can create measurable social impact.

The most promising solutions will be showcased at the Gender and Inclusion Summit 2026 (GS-26), where policymakers, investors, development partners, and corporate leaders will be looking for innovative ideas with the potential to scale.

What Makes This Different

Many hackathons end when the event is over. This one is built to help promising ideas move forward. Selected participants gain access to:
  • Institutional support through the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) and a network committed to moving promising ideas closer to real-world impact.
  • Visibility at GS-26, one of Africa’s leading platforms focused on gender equality, inclusion, and social innovation.
  • A proven innovation framework through the Inclusive Innovation Framework, helping each team design with underserved communities at the centre.
  • Access to investors and partners through the Virtual Pitch Series and Deal Day.
  • Expert mentorship from experienced professionals, innovators, and sector experts who understand what it takes to build impactful solutions.
