Akinwumi Akinola serves as Associate Director, Delivery & Innovation at the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC), where he leads the organization's integrated delivery and innovation architecture. He oversees the design, execution, and scaling of multidisciplinary programmes spanning behavioural insights, public policy, governance, and institutional innovation.  

His mandate is to ensure that evidence-based ideas move beyond research into effective implementation, enabling governments and partners to achieve sustainable policy and systems change. He is particularly interested in advancing delivery science, behavioural public policy, and innovation for development across Africa. In this role, Akin has a direct oversight of four strategic portfolios: the Project Management Office (PMO), Behavioural Insights (BI), the Innovation Lab, and the Climate Change and Sustainability Portfolio in PIC.  

Prior to joining PIC, Akin served in various capacities; as a Research Manager in Population Council, Program Coordinator at iCentra Consulting, Intern at FHI 360 and many other development organizations. Aside from holding a Master’s degree in Public Health, Akin has received training in Design Thinking and Innovation from Havard University, as well as a certified training in Behavioural Change Interventions from University College, London   

Akin is an author of 3 books –Psychospirituality, Inhumane and Corporate Guts. He is a prolific speaker on subject of career, leadership, emotional and social intelligence, innovation as well as strategy.
