As an Advocacy Intern at the Policy Innovation Centre. Aminat supports the designing and implementation of strategic advocacy initiatives across multiple PIC projects, manages the U-Network, and contributes to the development of advocacy materials, including briefs, reports, and presentations. She also plays a key role in coordinating stakeholder engagements and collaborative initiatives, working closely with cross-functional teams to strengthen partnerships, achieve milestones, and drive impact.
Prior to joining the Policy Innovation Centre, Aminat worked as a Programme/Project Assistant with two criminal justice civil society organizations, where she with support from MacArthur Foundation and International IDEA contributed to the inauguration of the Administration of Criminal Justice Monitoring Committee in over 7 states and the development of key legal and policy frameworks. Her portfolio features three Administration of Criminal Justice Laws (ACJLs), a Model Practice Direction, the ACJA Amendment Bill 2023, two GBV papers and other superb initiatives aimed at advancing criminal justice reform and achieving Sustainable Development Goals 5, 10, and 16.
Aminat is a qualified lawyer, Mediator and Concilliator with a master’s degree in law and policy. She also holds a Google Project Management certification and is an alumna of the PLAC/EU and Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI) Policy and Legislative Internship Initiatives, reflecting her strong foundation in policy development, legislative processes, and governance.
