Ann Esan is an accomplished finance and operations leader with over 18 years of experience managing complex, multistate, donorfunded programmes across Nigeria. She currently serves as the Associate Director, Finance and Operations at the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC), where she provides strategic oversight for financial management, human resources support, administrative systems, donor compliance, budget execution, and organizational process efficiency.
Ann’s career spans senior roles in reputable development and policy institutions, including Finance & Administration Manager at Population Council, Senior Finance Manager at Pro Health International/4GATES Project, and Project Accountant at the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG). In these roles, she successfully managed high‑impact portfolios funded by major international donors such as CDC, USAID, MacArthur Foundation, UNDP, Packard Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and Luminate Foundation.
She is widely recognized for her strong leadership, people management capabilities, and her ability to deliver measurable results in highly regulated, highpressure environments. Her expertise covers project startup and closeout, grant management, HR administration, office operations, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Ann is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and holds an MBA in Accounting and Finance from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology. She is also a certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor in Quality Management Systems, bringing deep competence in internal controls, quality assurance, and compliance.
