Isaac Akintoyese Oyekola

PIC Institute Lead
PIC Institute

Isaac is the PIC Institute Lead at the Policy Innovation Centre (PIC), where he provides strategic and operational leadership for the Institute's programmes, research initiatives, academic engagement, and institutional systems. He oversees the planning and delivery of knowledge-sharing platforms and capacity-building programmes that promote evidence-informed decision-making and cross-sector collaboration. He also provides leadership for the Institute's partnerships, innovation, and knowledge dissemination agenda. 

Prior to joining PIC, Isaac built a career in academia, contributing to teaching, research, mentoring, and institutional development. Since joining PIC, he has served as a Social Research Specialist and subsequently as Interim Lead, PIC Institute, before assuming his current role. He has contributed to multidisciplinary research and policy initiatives across education, health, gender, governance, public policy, and social development. His work spans mixed-methods research, evidence synthesis, competitive proposal development, institutional capacity strengthening, stakeholder engagement and thought leadership at the intersection of executive learning and public policy. 

Isaac holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Leadership Certificate from Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University. He was awarded the 2022 Early Career Grant by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH), in partnership with the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). He has authored peer-reviewed publications, secured competitive research grants and awards, presented at national and international conferences, and contributes to global scholarship through editorial service, research grant assessment, and peer review. He is committed to advancing research excellence, strengthening institutional capacity, and translating evidence into policy and practice. He is directly accountable to the Director, PIC Institute.
